수업 소개
영어 수준 - 알 수 없음
In this one time class we will discuss the role of Canine Teams in rescue operations, types of search & rescue dogs and how they are trained. We will also discuss the bond between the dogs and their handlers. The impact and the legacy that these heroes made on both rescue operations and public awareness will also be reflected on. A few specific teams will be mentioned as well as some of the memorials and tributes given to them. An optional project will be suggested for work after class. This cover image is of my friend/co-worker and her SAR team partner K9 Liza at the site of the World Trade Center.
학습 목표
Learners will understand the important role that search and rescue canines and their handlers played in the aftermath of the 9/11 terror attacks.
그 외 세부 사항
학부모 가이드
The terror attacks on September 11,2001 is an important, yet dark part of the history of the United Stares. Class discussion will be focused on the fact that this was also a search and rescue operation like we had never witnessed before. We will be discussing the dogs/handlers and their amazing work, but there will be acknowledgment that thousands of innocent people died that day.
