Can you teach an old dog new tricks? Yes, you can! Children will learn how to instruct their dog to various tricks, one trick per week. Dog, 4 to 6 foot leash (not retractable), soft little pieces of training treats, and any transitional object used in training such as a bell, hula hoop, stick, etc. Bells can be purchased for around $10 on Amazon.
Dogs are unpredictable and some dogs take longer to learn than others. In addition, certain dogs may not be able to do some tricks due to size, age or health issues. Space is needed to do training. *** Dogs should know some basic commands such as sit, stay and down to be able to perform tricks successfully. Puppies are welcome but should be at least 4 months old. This is trick training which is fun and rewarding for learner and dog, but is not meant to substitute basic command training.
