Lesson 1
Introduction, Terminology and Integumentary System
This lesson will begin with the introduction of the definitions of anatomy and physiology. Medical directional terminology will be shared. The Integumentary system will begin the study of equine anatomy. Unit assignments will be given.
 Week 2
Lesson 2
Skeletal and Muscular Systems
This lesson will start with defining conformation and soundness. The skeletal system and bones, ligaments, hooves and types of muscles will be discussed. Unit assignments will be given. 
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Digestive System
The digestive system including the teeth will be discussed and how equine digest food. Unit assignments will be given. 
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Respiratory System 
The respiratory system and some common respiratory issues will be shared. Unit assignments will be given. 
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Cardiovascular and Hematology 
The cardiovascular system and hematology will be discussed. Vital signs will also be taught. The course project/presentation will be explained. Unit assignments will be given. 
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Nervous and Endocrine 
Project Presentation examples shown 
Nervous and Endocrine Systems will be discussed. Some neurologic issues will be shared. Project presentation examples will be shown. Unit assignments will be given. 
 Week 7
Lesson 7
Renal- Urinary, Learner Q&A 
The renal system and urinary conditions are the focus of this lesson. Time will be left for Q & A on course topics or the final project. 
 Week 8
Lesson 8
Learner project presentations 
Learners will present their horse project story presentations.
