예술의 요령을 터득하다: 초보자를 위한 기본

Making art is one of the most fun ways to express yourself, but sometimes, it's tough to know where to start. Because art has so much to it, it can often be difficult to understand the art you're looking at, as well as how to make the art that you want to! Don't worry, if you've ever felt that way, you're not alone. This class is a beginner's approach to the fundamentals of art, and is designed to help learners understand making art using a simple approach.

In this class, we will cover a different, foundational topic each week. Classes will be structured in the following format:

- Introducing the topic of the week
- Defining the topic, and looking at examples of it
- Identifying the topic in famous pieces of art
- Making art that uses the topic by using a prompt

This is the beginner's class, where we will be covering the elements of art, as well as some of the principles of design. Each week will cover a different element, principle, or basic medium. Take a look at the schedule below to see when each topic will be covered. Check back regularly for upcoming dates and their topics, too.

Week of September 24: Shape
Week of October 1: Color
Week of October 8: Texture

Learners will be encouraged to ask questions about these foundational subjects, and suggest class topics that they're looking to explore further, as well!
