I have been a music teacher for over 20 years! I have taught piano, guitar, ukulele, flute, childrens music classes and I owned my own music studio for 10 years! But my FIRST instrument.... guitar. It is an amazing instrument that is fun to play and I love teaching others! 
In this small guitar class, students will learn the basics of guitar including:
- How to Tune the Instrument
- The Names of Each String
- How to Read the Notes on the Staff
- How to Read TAB for guitar
- Strumming Techniques
- Learning Songs on Day 1
- How to Hold and Use a Pick
- Hand Position and Placement of Fingers
- Learning Proper Rhythm and Counting

And most importantly to have fun! I firmly believe that students will grow, they will practice, and they will WANT to continue learning as long as they are enjoying it. There may be tough challenges, difficult songs, and some frustration, but I always keep the class relaxed, and enjoyable. 

I give each student time to play on their own, and other students muted, and I make sure each student is given time to ask questions and work 1-on-1 with me, but I also encourage them to work as a group playing together and listening to each other. I keep my groups small and personal.

Please feel free to let me know any information about the student prior to class so I can prepare before our class including age, music experience, any experience with the guitar, and if you have any questions prior to the first class!
