In this class, I teach different mindfulness techniques and meditation practices for students to use in their daily lives to help with stress, or just to be more present in their lives. This will be an interactive class where students will get to ask questions and share their thoughts and perspectives. They will learn how stress impacts their body as well as their minds, and how to stop the negative feedback loop in their minds. Class will be structured as following: - Intro/Ice...
Students will learn a variety of different types of meditations while practicing together and the importance of creating a meditation practice as well as how to practice being mindful throughout their day. They will learn positive affirmations to help them with the pressures of school as well as with social media.
I have had my own personal experience with anxiety as well as guidance from therapists, doctors, and psychiatrists. This class is not a substitute for offering therapeutic support specifically for learners suffering from chronic anxiety or anxiety disorders. Please seek professional medical attention.
Throughout the ongoing class I will recommend different apps and books teens can use to further their knowledge and encourage their practice.
