Unwind, create, and discover tranquility in our "Calm Creations" class! Join us for an interactive and relaxing experience where you'll craft your very own calming bottle. This unique workshop is designed to help you find moments of serenity and mindfulness in the midst of a busy world.

🔮 During this hands-on session, you'll have the opportunity to personalize your own calming bottle using a variety of materials such as glitter, sequins, water, and more. As you carefully construct your bottle, you'll not only engage in a creative activity but also immerse yourself in a moment of focused relaxation as you learn techniques to foster mindfulness as you add the elements to your bottle. The gentle movement of the glitter and the soothing colors will captivate your senses and create a mesmerizing visual experience. Plus, you'll have a beautiful reminder of your ability to find peace within.

⭐️ In class, students are expected to pay attention, use quiet inside voices, and participate by interacting on video and asking questions, if they choose to! 

🫧 How is the class structured? 🫧
Introduction: Brief overview of mindfulness and meditation.
Warm-up: Simple stretching and breathing exercises.
Main Activity: Guided meditation session using feathers to show the breathing and focus awareness. 
Discussion: Students can share how they applied the technique and what outcomes they noticed. This allows them to make a clear connection between using the tool and its effectiveness in their practice.
Wrap-up: Closing thoughts and a brief relaxation exercise.

🚨 Prerequisites/Class Requirements:

✅ No prior mindfulness experience required. A comfortable, quiet space is recommended to encourage students to engage with silent practices for short periods.
✅ Students are expected to participate through activities and during discussion time.
✅ Students must be between 13-18 years old to participate.

My teaching style is a blend of supportive and nurturing guidance, combined with patience and understanding to create a safe space for all students. While maintaining a playful yet structured environment, I encourage creativity and self-expression, allowing each child to explore yoga and meditation in their own unique way.

Build Emotional Awareness and Regulation: Through this hands-on activity, students will learn how to identify and understand their emotions. They will develop skills to calm themselves during stressful situations and improve focus.
Enhancing Focus and Mindfulness: Students will learn how to use their calm bottle as a mindfulness tool, helping them stay present, grounded, and more aware of their thoughts and feelings.

As someone who has learned to manage her anxiety and ADHD, I strive to provide a safe space for children of all abilities. These needs are supported by incorporating movement into the class, and altering the class structure if needed.

This class is led by a wellness and behavioral health specialist with experience in mindfulness and relaxation techniques. While I bring a strong background in promoting mental and emotional well-being, please note that this class is not intended to provide individual or group therapy, nor will any diagnoses be made. The focus is on teaching practical strategies for managing stress and promoting calm through creative activities. Your child's participation is encouraged in a supportive, non-therapeutic environment. Please ensure that your child has a quiet, comfortable space to work on their project, and be mindful that adult supervision is recommended, especially for younger learners.

To ensure a serene and focused environment, it’s important that learners come ready to embrace a calming class atmosphere. While we’ll enjoy each other’s company and have fun exploring mindfulness, this time is dedicated to peace.

학사 학위 커뮤니케이션 California State University, San Bernardino 에서
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Cal State San Bernardino, and two yoga teaching certificates from the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health and LYT Method Yoga. I'm also a Wellness and Behavioral Health Specialist certified by Mental Health America. As a Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT) I've taught over 1,000 hours in my 8 years as a teacher, including hundreds of hours in elementary and middle schools. I also hold a trauma-informed certification, equipping me with the skills to create a safe and supportive environment for all students. I was in marketing and graphic design for a decade before I decided to become a yoga teacher. Wellness has become my passion and I'm so grateful/blessed to be on Outschool! I get to reach so many great kids and share what I love.
