History repeats itself - again and again :) By learning the succession patterns of Europe's leaders, learners in this class become experts in the patterns that govern the flow of history. This year, we have been learning the personal history and fascinating story behind each of the emperors who ruled Ancient Rome. Each ruler has their own story and I am looking forward to exploring each with you. Starting SEPTEMBER 2024: We will be learning the Holy Roman Empire! Enroll now. Your opinion counts! At the end of class, students rank each leader on a scale from 1-10 and have the opportunity to discuss and explain their assessments. A true student favorite! Participation is highly encouraged! IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO TAKE ANY PREVIOUS CLASS TO JOIN IN, EACH CLASS IS INDEPENDENT OF THE PREVIOUS CLASSES. PRIOR KNOWLEDGE IS NOT REQUIRED TO JOIN. You may enroll or un-enroll at any time. NOTE: WE HAVE FINISHED SEASON 1- ENGLAND AND SEASON 2- FRANCE! SEE BELOW. SEASON 3 - ROMAN EMPERORS BEGAN JANUARY 1, 2024. Participation in prior seasons or prior classes is not necessary and students can join any class at any time. Please join us for this fun discussion that allows us to explore the history of each civilization through the exciting stories of each of its rulers. Hello! I’m Sondra Rapoport, your friendly neighborhood Roman Historian. I taught with Harvard University's Dept. of Classics for 6 years as a Head Teaching Fellow. I taught classes on The Rome of Augustus, Roman Games, and Middle Ages and won awards for distinction in teaching each semester I taught with Harvard. Now, I homeschool my son and I greatly enjoy adapting my knowledge and classes designed for university level to each of his grade levels.
