Join Mrs. A as we explore the world in fun and interactive ways! In this student-centered class, we will discuss a new country each week! We will learn about new places, foods, traditions, cultures and customs! Student interaction, conversation and discussion is what makes this class great! Class Layout: ~Community Time: Sharing time, introductions, & getting to know one another ~World map- zoom into the country & compare to where we each live ~Walk through the country (photos & videos bring it to life) ~Culture chats* ~Closing & intro to next week! ~Goodbye! *Culture Chats are a special part of this class where students develop an understanding of people groups different than their own. With the goal of finding personal connections, students develop a global understanding of similarities and differences among cultures as well as an awareness of their own culture.

I am a licensed teacher in the state of Iowa and have years of classroom experience both in person and online.
Personally, I am married to a Ghanaian, I've traveled to multiple countries, and worked with students of countless backgrounds and cultures. It's my sincere belief that a global perspective is essential in our world today. Additionally, confidence and pride in one's own culture can be empowering and validating to young learners.
