***ESL friendly! This class is a great way to help build English vocabulary!***

In this class, we will learn and discuss one new word each week. Together, we’ll learn about the words:
 -definition
 -part of speech
 -synonyms and antonyms
 -morphemes (prefixes, bases and suffixes) 
 -interesting facts about the word’s history and origins
 -examples of its usage in the real world 

We’ll also try to create something of our own using the word, such as using it in sentences, in a short story, or in a comic or an illustration! We’ll dive into words from ancient English culture (besmirch) through to contemporary pop culture (cheugy).

Lexicographers estimate the English language to contain around 600,000 words, but admit this could be an under-estimate, and because it is a living language, new words are being added all the time! Plan on this class lasting at least 600,000 weeks! We will never run out of new words to explore

Words we may explore include pizazz, zhuzh, kibosh, crescendo, plethora, flabbergasted, and many, many more!
