宿題：

週あたり 1-2 時間. There will be worksheets and quizzes sent along with the slideshow/video presentation every week that will be due by Friday of the same week.

Grading will be based on the handouts and quizzes through out the course as well as the final essay written. Again, as this is not an English/writing course and an international school, the essay will be graded on the understanding of the materials and not grammar and spelling.

As this is is a self-paced class a presentation and worksheets for the subject will be sent to you as you go. When you complete the worksheets send that back to be graded and have yourself some fun!


The set up of the class will be one slideshow/video presentation subject that must be watched, as well as handouts to be read. Some of the handouts will be primary sources of documents; some will just be standard learning handouts. 

Every subject there will be worksheets and quizzes. 

The last section there will be an essay due about what the student feels is important about the Constitution and what they feel could or should be changed. As this is an international school, and this is not an English/writing class, I will be grading based on how the student uses the information learned and how they are able to explain their understanding of the Constitution and not on grammar and spelling.

US Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation, Magna Carta, Mayflower Compact, letters from the founding fathers as well as information on the philosophers who inspired the text. I will be sending my Power Point Presentation every week.

I have a degree in History as well as passed my teaching test in Massachusetts. I use my love of History and facts to help children understand that history is conceived of real people who did real things. I found Social Studies class boring as a child because the teachers concentrated mostly on dates and statistics rather than the humans behind the events. I use the historical documents and primary sources to bring the past to life.
