Students will spend time in class discussing what they know about the given topic. They will be introduced to the new topic through modeling, small amounts of lecture and multiple opportunities for guided practice. Students will be encouraged to ask questions and discuss solutions. We will also use manipulatives to enhance learning when available. Humor, laughter and appropriate socializing will encourage a friendly learning environment for each student to grow and prosper in! Follow up worksheets and/or activities will be available for independent assessment.

This class is a good fit for the struggling third grade math student OR for the brand new third grade math student.
学習到達目標
Students will learn a third grade math curriculum if they are fully participating each week.

受講に必要なもの
Students should have a notebook dedicated to "Third Grade Math" which is brought to each class so the student has a running notebook on the skills and concepts learned. They should always come prepared with a sharpened pencil and eraser. They are welcome to use a white board/marker for in-class, practice work. Additional supplies will be discussed or suggested for classes where hands-on exploration may be appropriate.
