This is an ongoing math class of fourth grade math skills, simplified. This course will touch upon the more difficult concepts that the fourth grade math learner works with. One topic will be covered at each meeting, making it easy for learners to come and go as caregivers see fit...or stay for the entire course!

Week Four: (Mon June 17/ Wed June 19): Divide with remainders one digit into three (7/13)
Week Five: (Mon June 24/ Wed June 26): Divide with decimals
Week Six: (Mon July 1/ Wed July 3) : Make equivalent fractions/ Use >,<,= by making equivalent fractions to compare
Week Seven: (Mon July 8/ NO CLASS WED JULY 10) : Add fractions with like and unlike denominators

Students should have a notebook which is brought to each class. They may also choose to use a whiteboard and marker, however, they will not have a record of the things they did in class so this is a decision for each family to make. They should always come prepared with a sharpened pencil and eraser (or writing utensil). Additional supplies will be discussed or suggested for classes where hands-on exploration may be appropriate (such as rulers, measuring cups, hundred chart, etc). Any papers needed for class will be provided before hand.

I am a well rounded teacher with experience in a variety of subject areas, curriculum, age levels and abilities. I love learning and I love to make learning fun for others. I have a fun sense of humor with a small degree of sarcasm that enables my students to feel comfortable and open to accepting challenges.
I have taught in classrooms full of students. I have worked with students of special needs. I have tutored one on one with a variety of topics and ages. I have worked online with foreign students. I have participated in adult education/training (helping adults to be teachers). I am continuously homeschooling my own five children.
I love to laugh and to hear others laughing. My teaching style is to break ideas down into small chunks to make it so all learners can navigate at their own pace and using their own understanding. I always aim to get my students laughing too while accomplishing this. The more we laugh, the more we love what we are doing and I want my students to love learning!
