Welcome to your ancient history class on the Maya, Aztec, and Incan empires. In this six-part class, we will dive into the history behind each of these empires from their rise to their fall. We will closely examine what life was like for those living during the height of these empires. To do this, we will examine their way of life, culture, religion, and structure of society. This includes looking at how these empires became so powerful and what led to their domination over their territory....

Students will learn about the three major empires of the Americas, including how their communities functioned and thrived. Students will study the cause and consequences of each of these empires' collapses. Students will critically examine the evidence to determine why these empires ceased to exist.
I have an undergraduate degree in History and I am qualified to teach intermediate and senior divisions of History. I have specifically studied ancient history as well. My lessons will be factually based using a variety of trusted sources that I have acquired through my research.
When learning about these empires, there will be discussions of wars and violent acts that led to the collapse of these empires. All material will be presented in a respectful and age-appropriate manner that is historically relevant. Students will use the trivia game Kahoot in this course. Students do not need to download or use any personal information to play this game. A link will be provided during our class time which students will use to directly take them to the game. They will only need to enter their first name to play.
