This course is the first Unit of a Mental Health Curriculum that can be taken alone, as a multi unit course, over weeks or as a full semester class that includes 9 units in total. In this unit students are introduced to the most common mental disorders, their causes, symptoms and therapeutic treatments. Lectures and discussions taught utilizing PowerPoint presentations, home and YouTube videos teach to diverse learning styles. Activities, discussion and debate questions are utilized for group...
Students will understand the basics of the five most common mental illnesses including their associated illnesses, the stigma's attached and how common they are in society.
My education and experience has heightened my ability to produce content that is factual without being emotional. The students will learn the truth about many fascinating disorders without feeling judgment and without opinion.
Students will need to download and/or print out activities provided in the Outschool platform before class.
