In this one time class, your child will practice reading Bossy R (R-Controlled) words in isolation and in decodable texts to help build their reading fluency. Fluency is the ability to read words with automaticity, accuracy, and expression. Readers who don't read fluently often can have reading comprehension difficulties. This class is great for late 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade students. Students should have some exposure to reading words with bossy r  (ex: car, fork, short, third, etc ) and sight (High Frequency) words.

Sample Class Format:
1. Letter Sound Warm up
2: Blending and Segmenting Bossy-R words (ex: sh-ar-p --> sharp)
3. Read a short decodable passage or book.

This class is great for students who need to review their phonics skills including students with dyslexia and ESL students.
