このクラスで学べること

英語レベル - 不明
米国の学年 Preschool - 1
🧪 🎨 Welcome to Kitchen Table Science! Each week, we will explore science and art in a new way. These are a combination of art projects and science projects put together.

👩‍🏫 In this class, I will guide the students as we do the science experiment together. I give opportunities for the learners to make their own hypotheses of how and why the experiment works. After they have made some guesses, I will guide them through the explanation. Learners are encouraged to do the experiments themselves. There will be time for questions and showing off the experiment as we go.

🧽***Since this is for young learners and might be a bit messy, having a parent nearby is highly recommended.

Some topics are subject to change, but all changes will be posted in a timely manner.

🛒***The supply list below will be updated weekly to show the supplies needed for that week. I will also post it in the classroom on Sun or Mon. ***

FEBRUARY: SPACE:
Feb 6 - HOW PLANETS ORBIT THE SUN/ WHY MOON HAS CRATERS
-Round cake pan/pie tin
-Small marble/bouncy ball

-Brown powder (chocolate powder, hot chocolate mix, dry chocolate pudding mix, instant -coffee, etc)
-Rocks of various sizes/shapes (yet small enough to fall into the pan)

Feb 13 - RAINBOW GALAXY MILK
-3-4 plates/bowls (we might do it a few times so bring a few bowls or plates - A muffin pan works well too as it has 6 circles)
-Milk (whole milk is best, but any cow’s milk can do- I don't think this works with plant-based milk)
-Liquid food coloring
-Water
-Q-tips (or cotton balls)
-Dish soap in a small bowl (I like to use Dawn, but I think most will work)
-Thick Paper - like cardstock or cut up index cards (cut small enough to fit in your plates/bowls of milk - about 2 inches square)

Feb 20 - MARSHMALLOW CONSTELLATIONS/STARS ON CEILING
-Printouts (both of them)
-Mini marshmallows (about 20)
-Toothpicks or uncooked spaghetti noodles - we may have to break some to make smaller lines
-Flashlight (NOT LED if possible)

-Glue stick
-Dark construction paper (black or brown would be best)
-Pushpin, safety pin, straight pin (something to poke a small hole in the paper)
-Parent help for cutting and poking

Feb 27 - BUILD YOUR OWN SOLAR SYSTEM
-White coffee filters (8-10) (make sure they can open flat into a circle)
-Paper plates (8)

-Spray bottle filled with water
-Scissors

Some of these experiments can be a little messy. It would be wise to have a parent nearby to help as needed.

I love looking around me and asking questions. "What if....?" Science is full of "what if" questions. Come explore simple science experiments with me. Most of the items can be found around your home or easily found at the store. I also have a love for math... especially math games. Join me as we make math fun! Many parents and learners appreciate the way I bring laughter to the classroom.

I have been an educator for 10 years: online ESL teacher for 5 years, and a Kindergarten teacher for 5 years before that. I have worked with children of all ages in various summer school and online activities. I have a Bachelor's in Music Education from Boise State University and a Masters in Pastoral Studies from Multnomah University. I live in Idaho, USA with my husband and my 2 young daughters (Ages 2 and 5). We enjoy reading books, getting a little messy, and taking walks together.
