Welcome scientists! 🧪 Let your child fuel their curiosity through a series of hands-on STEM/STEAM investigations. In this multi-day course, students will explore the world of chemical reactions! Students will learn the scientific method which includes how to make observations, form a hypothesis, conduct an experiment, ask questions, draw conclusions and report results. Upon our findings, students will share their findings with one another. This class will also allow students to promote their fine motor skills with this multisensory approach. Schedule:- Week 1- Magic Rainbow Milk 🥛 Week 2- Dancing Raisins and Pasta! 🍜 Week 3- Rain clouds ⛈️ Week 4- Oobleck: The Non-Newtonian fluid! 🥽 ***Supplies for the ENTIRE COURSE is already listed (scroll down to see the "Supply List" tab) so you can view what's needed in advance. Kindly note that if you do not have the supplies, students are still allowed to join the class and merely follow along. That way, they can still learn the process of how to make it and they can also conduct this experiment after class. Additionally, the file is merely a welcome picture. ✔️ Week 1: Magic Rainbow Milk • 2 cups of Milk (whole milk or 2% works best! Fat free wouldn't work) • 2 plates or trays or shallow pans • 2-4 different colors of liquid food coloring – (not the gel as it doesn’t work well) • A small bowl or cup of dish soap • A few cotton swabs or cotton balls • Napkin or paper towel (to wipe hands) • 1 curious kid! =) ✔️ Week 2: Dancing Raisins & Pasta • 2 clear cups or containers or jars (taller the better) • 2 cups water • 1 can or bottle of CLEAR soda such as Sprite (or any similar soda) • 1 spoon • 2 tablespoons baking soda • 2 cups white vinegar • 1 small of box of SMALL or medium sized raisins • A handful of COOKED spaghetti (cut into small pieces) or COOKED pasta (small pieces) • Paper towel or hand towel for cleanup • Tray or plate • 1 curious kid! =) ✔️ Week 3: Rain Clouds • 2 clear cups or containers or jars (about 16oz or taller. The taller, the better!) • water (enough to fill each cup/container/jar) • 1 can of FOAM shaving cream (NOT gel) • 3 different colors of liquid food coloring (NOT gel) • 1 small bowl or cup of water • 1 spoon • Paper towel or towel for cleanup • Tray or plate • 1 curious kid! =) ✔️ Week 4: The Non-Newtonian Fluid Oobleck • measuring cup (1 cup size) • 2 cups cornstarch • 1 cup water (set aside some extra) • 1 small metal fork • 1 medium sized bowl • 1 small or medium sized rice/pasta strainer (any strainer with pea sized holes) • Paper towels or a hand towel (to clean hands after) • 1 pack of small beads (or anything similar to such as a handful of beans.) • 1 food coloring (any color) • Tray or plate • 1 curious kid! =) ***Kindly note that some of these experiments might get a little messy, but it’s worth it! However, if you do not have these supplies, students are still allowed to join the class and merely follow along. That way, they can still learn the process of how to make it and they can conduct this experiment after class.*** *The file is merely a welcome picture. NO file is needed for class.*

👋 Hello! I'm Teacher Saara. I've been featured as an EPIC and ACE educator! I have a passion for teaching and I am very excited to teach your learner! I love to cook, swim, travel and conduct experiments! I’m originally from an island in the Caribbean called Trinidad. However, I grew up on Long Island, New York and I now reside in South Florida.
🎓 I have a Master's degree in Literacy from Long Island University, a Bachelor’s degree in General and Special Education from St. Joseph’s College as well as certifications in both TESOL and TEFL. I have been teaching for over 12 years in public and private schools. I've also been recognized as an EPIC Educator by Outschool providing instruction and creating class experiences that are Empowering, Passion-driven, Intentional, and Connected. Now that's EPIC!
👩🏫 Currently, I’ve been teaching online for over six years and I have experience teaching well over 15,000 online classes to students and I absolutely love the atmosphere of an online classroom! I have also spent three years in the tropical Caribbean teaching English to children from all parts of the world. I have taught ages three to 18 years old in subject areas such as ESL, reading, conversing skills, phonics, writing, cooking, grammar, math, science, social studies, fingerplay/songs, role playing and much more!

🎉 My philosophy is a child’s mind is like a blank canvas. It’s up to us educators, parents and everyone involved in a child's life to fill the canvas with meaningful illustrations. My interactive classes will contribute to this. My classes are extremely entertaining with humor, using many 3D props as well as digital props as it makes class more engaging.
