私は考える、ゆえに私は脳である：脳とその機能入門

I Think Therefore I Am the Brain is a class that introduces the different brain parts and the functions of these different parts. Students will be introduced to the four lobes of the brain as well as interesting facts pertaining to the lobes. This class will also evaluate the role of the parts of the brain and briefly address how damage to each part affects bodily functions. Thus, the learning objective is for students to be able to identify the four different parts of the human brain and to identify the functions of each part. No prior knowledge of the brain is necessary for this class. 

The class will be a one time class for 60 minutes. Students will learn through an introduction to the brain including a brief lecture by the teacher using visual aids and modeling content. Students will also participate in a guided practice activity to use the information from the lecture to complete a worksheet and participate in a trivia game. The class will include independent time to complete a worksheet to check for understanding. The participants in the class will have the opportunity to ask questions during this time and the teacher will check for understanding individually. The class will conclude by going over the worksheet and discussing the importance of brain functions. This discussion will include what happens to those functions when damage is done to one part of the brain.
