In this course students will learn how to make multiple no-sew toys for dogs, cats and rabbits. These toys are perfect for their own pets and also for students to donate to local animal shelters. I will post videos each week demonstrating how to make the toys. The cat and rabbit toys take less time than the dog toys to complete. The snuffle mat is the longest project to complete. 9 files available upon enrollmentThese are the items that will be used throughout the 4 week course. Approximately 5-6 yards of fleece. ( Used fleece is fine to repurpose) The amount varies based on size of toys you are making. You can have all one color or a mixture of colors. (Small dog vs large dog). Scissors for cutting fleece scissors for cutting the toilet paper roll Paper bag OR a small cardboard box A small amount of hay (or leafy lettuce will also work, hay just works a little better) Corks (at least 2) Feathers Pipe cleaners Tape measure Strong zip tie Elastic hair tie ( I buy the large 80 packs at the $1 store) A sock (a sock who's lost its mate is perfect) Paper ( newspaper, or any recycled paper to crinkle up) Catnip (optional) Yarn (need a minimum 4 inch piece to) Needle for yarn (optional) 3 toilet paper or paper towel rolls Rabbit pellets or treats (optional) Cat food or treats (optional) Dog food or treats (optional) Mat for base of snuffle mat. I prefer the outdoor rubber mats, but can also use sink mats. The mats need holes for putting the fabric through. Size can vary, but approximately a foot square is a good size. Here are some links to examples of the types of mat needed. This mat makes several, and are heavy duty for strong chewer dogs: https://www.amazon.com/Anti-Fatigue-Rubber-Kitchen-Commercial-Sallymall/dp/B06XW44Z9Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=rubber+floor+mat&qid=1586742713&sprefix=rubber+floor&sr=8-6 This mat is cheeper, but makes less https://www.amazon.com/SafetyCare-Interlocking-Rubber-Drainage-Floor/dp/B017M4OOW6/ref=mp_s_a_1_16?dchild=1&keywords=rubber+floor+mat&qid=1586742740&sprefix=rubber+floor&sr=8-16 Cheepest, but is not good for strong chewers. https://www.amazon.com/Interdesign-36800-12-5x16-Clear-Large/dp/B0000CFPTY/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=rubber+sink+mat&qid=1586743006&sr=8-3
