このクラスで学べること
Students will learn to draw realistic objects, animals, and places with pencils. This is an intermediate to advanced drawing class. (Students should have some drawing experience). I show how to use different pencils to attain different values and textures, and how to really draw the shapes and lines in the pictures we draw. In each class we discuss elements of art (line, shape, color, value, form, texture, and space) in the drawing for that week. Students are encouraged to ask questions and discuss the drawing. Overall, I love to keep things light and relaxing. Even though we are learning technical skills, I love to make it personal for each learner and encourage their insights and questions. (Learners may request additional topics if images with no copyright and lighting issues are found.) Week of June 12: Small boat Week of June 19: Swan Week of June 26: Train Week of July 3: Calf Week of July 10: Cannon camera Week of July 17: Sheep Week of July 24: Eagle Week of July 31: Elephant Week of August 7: Hummingbird Week of August 14: Ship Week of August 21: Gazelle Week of August 28: Bearded Dragon *Weekly drawing subject to change based on students' wants/needs.*

Pencil, eraser, and Paper. :) Art pencils are highly recommended but school pencils work just fine in a pinch. Any eraser will work but I recommend trying a "kneaded eraser" if possible because it doesn't leave "eraser crumbs". Any paper works. I usually use regular computer paper folded in half because that size works well for the time we have. Drawing in a sketchbook is great too.

Hello! I am BriAnn Ongesel. I have taught online classes for over 7 years and over 2 years here on Outschool. I teach art classes to ages 5-17.
I have my bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from Brigham Young University Idaho. I also studied UX/UI design from California Institute of the Arts. I am currently a freelance designer, online teacher, and mother of four.
I believe that the best learning comes from doing. Students learn from practicing the principles taught and from sharing what they learn with their peers. It is important to have fun in my classes, as well as talking with other students about class concepts and similar interests. Learning is about chasing what excites you and diving into all you can with it.
My hobbies include reading, drawing, and baking. I love good food - including 'nicecream', butternut squash, and cheesecake.
