Students will learn respectful interactions with other fans and how to use their social skills and digital interaction etiquette to have a fun and colorful conversation.  I will also be there to provide some scientific insight where I can.  Topics will proceed as follows and be updated monthly: 
Week 1 : Show and Tell Toys, books, and stories. Share your favorites! Handmade toys and drawings for bonus kudos!
Week 2: What if?  - We explore hypotheses around the history and lore of dragons. Hypothetical fights, pairings, or powers!
Week 3: Dragon genetics - How might certain dragon traits be passed down from one generation to the next?
Week 4: Dragon Training - How does that work? How do we train our pets? What types of animal behavior are at play in the dragon movies/shows?
Ongoing topics include: Student generated ideas and topics, Q&As, monthly Kahoot Trivia, and annual Dragon Tournament over the summer.

I worked as a marine biologist for many years, followed by 9 years in a veterinary pathology laboratory, followed by 14 years in public school teaching.  I have two young children of my own who are also big fans of the How to Train Your Dragon franchise and have watched the movies, read the books, and seen the shows more than adults probably should.
