They will share stories about how they have used similar strategies to learn about the world around them and will come away realizing that science is really all about problem solving. Students will learn about independent and dependent variables, the 3 types of scientific investigations, how real scientists keep journals, and how the scientific method works (and sometimes when it doesn't).
I have been a public school teacher for 14 years and have watched How to Train Your Dragon approximately 14,823 times with my 5 and 8 year old children. I have used this movie for almost 10 years now to teach students how amazing the different types of science can be, and how the scientific method is not always as clear cut as it seems.
