このクラスで学べること

It’s time to celebrate Christmas! In this one-day camp, students will learn the history and traditions of winter holidays like never before by building festive structures inside of Minecraft. Would you like to build and design your own tree ornaments, or even a fun gingerbread house? How about creating your own menorah? Decorating wreaths, building Santa’s sleigh, even making your own stockings and presents are all possibilities. Use your imagination to create festive structures to enjoy this festive winter tradition.

For this class, only Minecraft Java Edition (not the Bedrock edition) for PC or Mac is supported. It is not compatible with iPads, tablets, phones, Chromebook, or game consoles. Students must purchase the Java Edition of Minecraft for their personal computers; tablets, Chromebook or consoles will not suffice.

After class, students will receive a copy of their maps to save and play whenever they like.

In addition to providing a fun experience students will learn how to:

 - Use a variety of blocks to create various shapes and structures
 - Decorate the interiors of buildings
 - Collaborate with classmates to design structures and negotiate ideas
 - Execute their creative ideas through building their own personalized structures
 - Use technology to accomplish goals
 - Develop negotiating skills when conflict arises in a group setting and engage in teamwork
 - Terraform their surroundings to match the holiday.

The teacher will wait up to 15 minutes for students to arrive. If students do not show up within that time and haven’t provided advance notice, the session will not be rescheduled.
