このクラスで学べること
This class gives students unique challenges to test their Minecraft building and design skills! Students will work either in a group or by themselves to create a build according to theme for the week. One week students may be amusement park tycoons; the next, a minigame host; another, pirates with their own working cannons! Each week, we will introduce a new theme and skills. Each class starts off introducing students to a particular skill in Minecraft, such as how to use simple redstone, such as observers, repeaters, pistons, hoppers and more. Then students will be presented with a challenge that will test what they learned in fun and exciting ways. Maybe after learning about observers, students will create an automated farm. After learning about pistons, they can make a maze with secret buttons that tell you where to go! If you want to practice advanced building techniques or want to learn how to spice things up with basic redstone contraptions, this is the class for you. For this class, only Minecraft Java Edition (not the Bedrock edition) for PC or Mac is supported. It is not compatible with iPads, tablets, phones, Chromebook, or game consoles. Students must purchase the Java Edition of Minecraft for their personal computers; tablets, Chromebook or consoles will not suffice. Students will: - Learn new skills in Minecraft - Collaborate with other students to plan - Design and plan buildings and other locations for their challenge - Develop negotiating skills when conflict arises in a group setting and engage in teamwork - Apply basic engineering knowledge to rise to a specific problem or challenge - Give instructions to others and accept feedback from teachers and peers alike - Use technology to accomplish goals The teacher will wait up to 15 minutes for students to arrive. If students do not show up within that time and haven’t provided advance notice, the session will not be rescheduled.
