このクラスで学べること
Learners will start with one part of their room that they most wish to learn how to organize for greater enjoyment and less parent/kid stress. Along the way, students will learn key organizing principles. We'll use the same process in this class that is used in the longer camps and 6-time-once-a-week course. 1)We go over a key organizing concept. 2) Then the learner will assess their room while thinking about this concept, and and decide what's working and what's not working in an area of their room. 3) The learner will gather all the items in that area, sort the items into groups, purge unwanted items and finally organize and contain all the wanted items. 4) After learners tame their first mess, they move on to organize the second mess that really bothers them. 5) At the end of each class, we'll discuss how Hermione benefits from having an organized room: She has more time, She has less stress, She never forgets things or can't find things, or feels bad fighting with her parents. Instead she is ready and organized when it comes to fighting evil. 6) Before we leave, we want to make sure that the things which bring us joy are on display and that items we love and frequently use are a pleasure to take out and put away every time. We'll also talk about building the habit of a daily 'reset' a time to put things away in the learner's room. The most important part of this process is that we are all unique. What will work for you won't necessarily work for your child, sister, or friend. We'll figure out what works for each of us as individuals so that by the end of our process we'll love our room once again!
学習到達目標
LEARN: This class will teach at least two easy principals of organization to the learner who will start to tame their own room and space (starting with clothes, then books, then toys, artwork, desks, the floor, closets, etc). Learners will take an organizational quiz to discover their organizational style.
TAME: Once we sort out what natural strengths we have in organizing, students will learn how to leverage their natural disposition to take charge of their space.
LET GO: By the end of class, students will learn what to keep and what to let go. Because the best things in life aren't things.
FINISH: For some students, tidying their room will take one day. For others, we will chip away at sorting through the mess in one part of the room until it's all gone and then move on to the next.
Wouldn't it be nice to be more organized? Different kids have different strengths and styles. We'll learn to work with our strengths and learn what methods don't work for us as individuals.

受講に必要なもの
Students should bring to class a notebook or paper that they can use to draw in, lined or unlined. We will be making a map of our rooms. This class is about organizing physical spaces. As a result, there may be suggestions about the need for containers or furniture to help stay organized. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING BEFORE STARTING THE CLASS. Often there are inexpensive answers to these problems--such a utilizing Facebook Marketplace for desks or shelves, or using shoe boxes for storage solutions.

教師の専門知識と資格
There is nothing this instructor enjoys more than taming chaos. As a teacher of teens, kids, and college students for over 25 years, I've noticed that students who excel in college are almost always consistently organized and ready for what comes next. A long time fan of Julie Morgenstern and Marie Kondo (organizing goddesses), I'm also savvy about the use of time management skills and bullet journals since my job has always relied upon self-scheduling multiple projects and a need to tame the paper tiger that comes with being a writer. I've been helping friends tame their offices and schedules for years, and now I'm happy to offer this class to kids who are bright and know they can shine--but for whatever reason are mired down and as a result often seem disorganized to others.
