In this 30 minute one-time class we will delve back in time to discover the origins and evolution of one of the deadliest animals to ever swim our oceans: the shark. This class will start at the very beginning and make our way through time to the present, and we will discuss the sharks of each time period from Stethacanthus, to Helicoprion, to the biggest of them all: Megalodon. Combining both up to date paleontology with recent reconstructions of these sharks, we will explore the different species, habitats, diets, and weird body plans of these boneless fish. This class will involve questions from myself and between learners throughout the class, and discussion about class material. No prior knowledge or experience is required, but a love of sharks or paleontology is encouraged. This class will cover much of the same material as my Evolution of Sharks class for ages 8-12, but will be more geared to a younger audience.
