In these tutoring sessions, we can cover marine fish and shark-related topics that your student needs assistance in. Common areas often cover anatomy, physiology, life history (age, growth, reproduction), diet, and behavior. General session layout will begin with a review of the specific concept or topic that your student is interested learning more about. Typically, I will ask your student what their favorite marine fish or shark is, so I can incorporate it into our tutoring sessions, especially in the review section. The rest of the session will be open for your student to ask questions, including needing assistance with homework, study guides, or just general interest, so I can really engage with your student and build their understanding of marine fish!

We will often refer to your students' own resources used in their respective courses. However, I can provide resources (ex: youtube videos, photos, worksheets, diagrams, etc.) if necessary. Additionally, I request that students or parents let me know what topics need to be covered ahead of time so I can make sure I'm fully prepared for our sessions!

My expertise is in marine fisheries research, which covers both bony fish and sharks. I have a bachelor's degree in marine biology, with a minor in marine ecology, and I have covered various biological topics focusing on fish, sharks, marine mammals, and invertebrates. I had college-level research experience in three different facets of fisheries research - fisheries-induced evolution (how fisheries/fishing influences fish evolution over time), educational outreach and identification of marine species, and age/growth of stingrays. Outside of college, I have successfully completed two marine fisheries ecology internships targeting bony fish and sharks, where I gained experience with research and biological techniques (ex: dissections), inshore and offshore boat experience, and educational outreach. レビュー
