I will give the students homework, quizzes, drills, tests, assignments, projects, and grades as the parent desires. I want to be an asset and help to the training of the students.テスト
The learner will not be given homework, quizzes, or tests, unless the parent specifically requests it. Only at this time will grades be kept for this particular student.評価

Hi, this is Mrs. C with Innovative Tutoring. If you are looking for a plain, straightforward, to-the-point teaching of math concepts, this is your class. I do use a variety of methods to teach, but my goal is to make sure that the students master the material. I want them to learn, to gain knowledge. The word "teacher" means "one who is apt to teach". A good meaning of the word "teacher" is "one who is able to explain and demonstrate concepts in a variety of ways for a variety of different learners and learning styles. A good teacher is a good learner—they learn how their student(s) learn—and modify their teaching accordingly." I strive to attain that goal in my classes. The student entering Algebra I should have a mastery of the principles and facts of basic math, because this will be vital learning Algebra I, which is a continuation of arithmetic. Algebra and arithmetic have many similarities and differences, which allows for increased understanding of Algebra. As this is a course of higher mathematics and used for credits, I am careful in my instruction to make sure that the student receives 100%. If the parent so desires, I will give the student quizzes and tests over the material. Each week in this ongoing class, we will listen and/or work and analyze each form, principle, fact, problem, or assertion of algebra. We will study the full breakdown of each unit and plot its value to the algebraic expression. Our weekly lessons will consider a preparation section, in which the student will be notified of any materials needed for that class on the front CLASS PAGE; then, there is a teaching section, in which the student will be provided the topic that will be taught for that week on the front CLASS PAGE. Please feel free to join at any week, or you are welcome to stay with us to gain a more in depth knowledge of Algebra I. Please find the list of our first four weeks of sessions; these will be updated and added to as needed. Week of Aug. 13, 2023 Lesson 1 - Introduction to Algebra: Review of Pre-Algebra and its basic operations using Pre-Algebra Review JeopardyLabs. Week of Aug. 20, 2023 Lesson 2 - Teach the Order of Operations: PEMDAS (Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally). The student will memorize this and understand its meaning. They will understand the general principle of working from the inside out. They need to know to simplify the numerator and denominator before continuing. Review exponents, factors, coefficients, terms, and inequalities Week of Aug. 27, 2023 Lesson 3 - Teach the Translating Word Phrases into Algebra (how a word statement can be translated into an algebraic expression or equation). Teach the difference between less and less than using a mnemonic(1.3): less has 1 word, therefore the first number goes first in the subtraction; less than has 2 words, therefore the second number goes first in the subtraction. Week of Sept. 3, 2023 Lesson 4 - Teach Evaluating Algebraic Expressions: r = 3 ft (area of a circle); V= pi(r squared)h -volume of a cylinder; C= 5/9(F-32) Convert Fahrenheit to Celsius; (simple interest formula) i=p r t; (distance formula) d=rt. They will memorize these formulas and learn how to use them. Week of Sept. 10, 2023 Lesson 5 - Teach Real Numbers: show the students how to identify the types of integers; how to express a quantity as a signed number; identify a real number as a rational or irrational; add and subtract fractions; identify least common denominator of 2 or more fractions; reduce a fraction to lowest terms; and, express a decimal as a fraction or a fraction as a decimal. Week of Sept. 17, 2023 Lesson 6 - Teach Order and Absolute Value: plot numbers as points on a number line; use a number line to compare 2 or more numbers; use an order symbol to show the relationship between 2 numbers; simplify and evaluate an absolute value expression. Week of Sept. 24, 2023 Lesson 7 - Lesson 8 Linear Equations in two variables & Intercepts & Slope Lesson 9 Slope-Intercept Form & Point-Slope Form & Parallel and Perpendicular Lines Lesson 10 Linear Inequalities & Inequality Notation & Addition Property of Inequality & Multiplication Property of Inequality Lesson 11 Solving Linear Inequalities & Writing Inequalities for Word Problems & Solving Compound Inequalities Lesson 12 Absolute Value Inequalities & Linear Inequalities in Two Variables

I graduated from a 4-year liberal arts program with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Minor in History. My dedication to teaching math stems from wanting students to have the ability to succeed in their endeavors. I have taught in the classroom and homeschooled for over 30 years, teaching from K2 through 12th grade, plus 3 1/2 years at a small college over their education program. The complete classroom elements must be taught to be well-rounded academically, mentally, intellectually, and physically.
My teaching experience is as follows: Advanced K5; 1st through 6th-grade phonics, reading, and math program; 5th grade all subjects; 7th through 8th-grade math, Algebra I and II, Consumer Math, Geometry, Speech, Typing, Shorthand, and Spanish I; 7th - 12th grade English and Speech; Remedial College English, College English 101 & 102, History of Civilization 101 and 102, American History 101 and 102, and American Government 101 and 102. In addition, I taught for 3 1/2 years at the college level for a small college as the director of their education department.
I have already taught a remedial Algebra I class, and I am presently teaching several sections of Remedial Math 102: Mastering the Fundamental Concepts.
