Course Overview
Welcome to a writing space where your ideas matter more than the mechanics. This personalized course removes traditional barriers to writing, allowing you to focus on what matters – expressing your unique voice and stories.

*How We Support Your Writing Journey*

Every writer has their own path. We adapt to your needs with:

*Personal Scribing Service: Share your ideas verbally while an instructor captures them, letting you focus purely on creative expression

*Customized Technology: From speech-to-text software to screen readers, we'll find the tools that work best for you

*Flexible Format: Whether you prefer typing, dictating, or using alternative input methods, we adapt to your comfortable way of working

*Visual Planning Tools: Access graphic organizers and mind-mapping tools to structure your thoughts before writing

What You'll Create:
Over 6 weeks, you'll develop a piece of writing that matter to you. Choose any genre that sparks your interest:

Short stories
Personal essays
Poetry collections
Research projects
Opinion pieces
Creative nonfiction
Or design your own format!

Each piece can include multimedia elements like illustrations, charts, or digital presentations – whatever best brings your ideas to life. You can write as many projects as you would like.

Course Structure:
Our structured yet flexible approach follows a natural writing progression:
Sample Project (Weeks 1-6)

Week 1: Discover your story through guided brainstorming
Week 2: Shape your ideas with personalized outlining
Weeks 3-4: Develop your first draft with ongoing support
Week 5: Share and refine through collaborative revision
Week 6: Polish your work with guided editing

Why This Course Is Different:

Personalized Pacing: Move through the writing process at your comfortable speed
Focus on Ideas: Let us handle the mechanics while you concentrate on creativity

Hello! My name is Carly, and I am the founder of ARI Learning.

I’m a proud graduate of the University of Victoria’s School of Child and Youth Care. I have always been passionate about working with children and youth, and this degree program provided me with knowledge of the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young people. When teaching, I use a multidisciplinary approach, focused on relationship building, to support holistic development alongside academic achievement.

In addition to my formal education, I’ve also gained valuable experience through my seven years of online teaching. I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of students and families, who have taught me the importance of creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment. It was through building relationships with my learners and their parents that I realized my own ADHD, the unknown reason why improving education is so important to me.

As an educator, I am dedicated to providing an inclusive learning environment that meets the needs of all learners. I believe that every student has the right to access quality education that is tailored to their unique abilities and learning styles.

This means creating classrooms that are welcoming, safe, and respectful of all students, in ways that enhance their abilities & neuro-specializations.

Hi! My name is Yvonne and I'm a teacher for ARI Learning. I have spent 3 years as a technical writer and am working towards my Master's in Distance Education and a certification in IEW. I have my B.Mus. from McGill University and I really enjoy writing. My daughter has a disability that creates challenges for her with writing and I've enjoyed supporting her. I've been scribing and transcribing for many years, have experience with supportive technologies and free tools such as screen readers, speech to text and AI assistants. I look forward to supporting your learner!
