US Grade 5 - 6
In this individual class, learners can bring homework or assignments from school or other classes that involve exponents to work on together. If learners do not have a specific assignment to work on during the session, they will be given guided practice problems to practice skills and concepts with exponents typically taught in fifth and sixth grade. This should not be the student's first exposure to this mathematical operation. Students will be given immediate feedback, guided error correction, and reteaching as needed during the class. Concepts and skills can include any of the following: •Write Multiplication Expressions Using Exponents •Evaluate Exponents •Powers of Ten •Evaluate Exponents with Decimal Bases •Evaluate Exponents with Fraction Bases Please schedule your sessions carefully, as missed sessions will not be rescheduled or refunded.

Supply List
Learners should bring something to write with, such as paper/pencil or a whiteboard, to each class meeting. If they have a specific assignment they would like to work on, they should bring that to the class meeting as well.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Hello! I have been teaching and working in the public school setting for the past nineteen years, and tutoring privately for the past ten years. I have worked with students ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade in math, reading, writing mechanics, American History, and beginning Spanish. I especially enjoy working with students in small groups or individually, and developed skills as an online educator when schools had to close for the pandemic. I have continued to work online with learners today, and truly enjoy it. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy watching television and movies, and traveling with my family.Reviews
