US Grade 8
This class is part of a series of classes meant to provide opportunities for students to review and practice math concepts taught through Big Ideas Math, Grade 8, Chapter 8. This class does not use problems from the textbook, and does not teach the concepts using the same methodologies as the textbook. Learners are able to bring problems from their textbook for help and clarification, but they must already have the materials as materials and/or access to the Big Ideas curriculum will not be provided in this class. Instead, this class follows the same sequence of concepts as the textbook in order to supplement learning. Below is a list of concepts that we will be covering during this course. Week 1: Evaluating Exponents Week 2: Multiplying Exponents Week 3: Powers of Powers Week 4: Division with Exponents Week 5: Negative Exponents Week 6: Converting Between Scientific Notation and Standard Form Week 7: Add and Subtract Numbers Written in Scientific Notation Week 8: Multiplying and Dividing Numbers Written in Scientific Notation Please note that this is a multi-day class with a set schedule. Please review the entire schedule before enrolling, as missed classes will not be rescheduled or refunded. Thank you!
