IS YOUR CHILD ABLE TO THINK AND READ CRITICALLY? CAN THEY FIND THE EVIDENCE IN THE TEXT? CAN THEY CITE THEIR TEXT EVIDENCE? These are all essential skills for academic success. However, by utilizing the "RACE" Strategy, students will learn the process to master these skills. Use code LEARN9L4PX5 to save $5 today! In the book, Pathways to the Common Core, Calkins et al., (2012) state that, “The ability to convey knowledge is becoming just as important as knowledge itself” In this class, students will learn and practice the "RACE" strategy for providing concise and informative short-answer responses. Using the "RACE" strategy helps students develop critical thinking skills, organize their thoughts, and express their ideas more effectively. Being able to provide concise and structured responses is important as students begin to read more in-depth and critically. Answering questions using the "RACE" strategy allows students to show their complete understanding of what they have read as well as the question being asked. In our classes, you will find kind, caring, and encouraging teachers who will work hard to ensure your child has a great experience and will be taught the objectives of the class. In addition, we provide feedback as well as our observations and suggestions from the class. We also provide additional at-home practice after every class. We are not just here for your students, we are also your learning partners and value your feedback and correspondence. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions, comments, or concerns you may have. Common Core State Standards - R.L 3.1, 4.1, 5.1, 6.1 - Cite evidence to support an analysis of the text CCSS R.I. 3.1, 4.1, 5.1, 6.1 Refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text. Happy Learning!
