During this multi-day, fun, and interactive course students will be given an introduction to the organ systems in the human body. We will learn what organs and organ systems are and why they are so very important to us. We will learn to name specific organs and recognize their roles in keeping us healthy. Our final activity will include an opportunity for students to place their organs inside a body outline! An easily printable template will be provided in advance. Students can let their creativity soar by adding their own special touches to their work! At the end of the course series, these body system crafts will be tied together into a fun book that your student can keep for reference and share with their family if they wish. This is a great course for students who are getting ready to dive into anatomy and physiology in grade-level science courses, students who need a summer refresher, or students who are simply interested in health science topics! NOTE - due the age of our learners, we will not be covering the reproductive system. Also, I teach separate classes on the muscular and skeletal systems, which you can locate in my suggested classes section. Please note that the schedule is somewhat tentative based on the needs of the individual learners. If we do not complete a system on one day, we will roll that topic to the next session.

Metas de aprendizaje

Students will gain a basic understanding of the human organ systems, including, what organs and organ systems are, why we need them, how organs are oriented in the body, and how we can keep them healthy and strong.

Hello! My name is Carly Hudson, and I am an independent homeschool teacher. I have a passion for learning and consider myself a lifelong student. Knowledge is the key that opens a thousand possibilities, and it is an honor and a gift to share knowledge with others. There really are not many things in life that are much sweeter than seeing a child or young adult that has grasped a new concept and watching their confidence blossom. I teach English, Reading, Spelling, Latin, Geography, Mathematics, History, Civics, and Science to my five children ranging in age from 4 years to 14 years old. My favorite academic subject to teach is science. I also lead worship in our local church, and I love to teach basic music principles and terminology. I have a Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University. My primary vocation has always been in Healthcare Administration, but I began teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) online more than two years ago, and I love it!! I now homeschool, and teach through online services full time. I am TESOL and TEFL certified. One of my hobbies is making music! I love to play my guitar and sing. Music is the unsung hero of learning. There are so many ways that music, rhythm, and rhyme can help students achieve learning and memorization in any subject, and you get a bonus because it's just fun to do!
