Campamento de verano: 2D - Diseño de juegos 3D con Unity (Nivel 1)
Experiencia de clase
3D Video Games in Unity for Kids In this course, we will teach foundational topics in programming video games in 3d motion, collision detection, level design, and some basic C# coding. They will also be exposed to some core mathematical concepts including how to work with two dimensional and three dimensional coordinate systems. For a week to week program, check out the syllabus.
10 lessons//2 Weeks
Week 1Lesson 1IntroductionStudents will be introduced to Unity and gain an understanding of how to interact with the editor. They will begin by creating a 2D game template, where they will learn the interface of the Engine, as well as how to use the main tools provided.Lesson 22D Physics DemosStudents will create two physics demos that showcase how physics functions in the Unity Engine for 2D games. - Creating a Mass-Scale with lever, fulcrum, and multiple masses - Trampolines and FrictionLesson 3PhysicsStudents will create a 3D game where we play around with physics to roll a marble onto a balancing object in order to do a little physics experiment to get used to the Unity Engine.Lesson 4C# LessonStudents will learn the programming language C#. They will learn fundamental concepts which can be applied to Unity games.Lesson 5Roll a Ball, movementStudents will create a rolling ball game using C#. We will begin this task by creating our game board and writing a movement script for our player character.Week 2Lesson 6Roll a Ball, cameraStudents will continue to create a rolling ball game using C# and begin dealing with camera movements and a script will be designed to handle this behavior effectively as well as control the display of the ball.Lesson 7Roll a Ball, itemsStudents will continue to create a rolling ball game using C#. We will start designing some pick up objects into our game along with a script that will rotate them and change the appearance of these objects from within the code. We will also discuss how to add custom textures into our game object.Lesson 8Roll a Ball, score and UIStudents will continue building their roll a ball game using C#. In this class students will learn how to keep track of a score and add a win condition and a win screen using a script.Lesson 9Roll a ball, enemiesStudents will finish the general form of the roll a ball game by learning how to add in a few enemies that will chase you when you get close. We will also cover a variety of other tricks and tips for enemy creation and control.Lesson 10Final ProjectStudents will turn the roll a ball game we have been working on into a finished level where they are free to choose the layout and set up all the items and enemies. The teacher will go over a basic template and then the rest of class will be left for the students to design their games with the teacher’s help.
- Students will learn foundational topics in programming video games in 3d motion, collision detection, level design, and some basic C# coding.
