Grado de EE. UU. 1 - 4
In this ongoing course, students will document the changes of the season and the excitement of Spring and Summer. We will learn about the different spring flowers, animals, gardening, changing of the trees, and the weather changes. Each week, we will discuss a different topic and the students will draw a picture, make observations, and write a journal entry about their observations. Students will need a pencil, piece of paper, and crayons/markers/colored pencils. This class is interactive and social and the students will talk about the different aspects of these warmer seasons in different parts of the world depending on where they live. There is no previous knowledge required for this course. Week 1- Flowers- Students will discuss the meaning of Spring and some of the changes that take place based off of where they live. We will focus on the flowers that come out in the Spring and take observations about the characteristics of the flowers. Students will take notes about the different flowers and we will discuss the observations as a group. Students will write a journal entry about these topics using complete sentences and detail and they will share their journal entries with the class. Week 2- Animals- We will discuss the different animals that come out in the Spring. I will share information on the animals and we will discuss the habitats of these different animals. The students will make a drawing of the different animals. The students will make observations and write down the different observations. They will write a journal entry on the different animals using complete sentences and share their journal entry with the class. Week 3 - Gardening- Students will discuss the different aspects of gardens based off the information I share from the powerpoint. Students will make observations about the garden and discuss the gardening that takes place where they live. Students will draw a picture of a garden and document their observations. Students will make a journal entry about their observations and share the journal entry with the class. Week 4 - Weather changes- Students will discuss weather changes that take place in their area and the different ways that Spring weather changes from Winter. Students will draw pictures and make observations about the weather changes. Students will write journal entries using their observations and they will share their journal entries with the class. Each week the students will be asked critical thinking questions about the topics and they will be asked to make observations about the topics. Students will be working on the Science standards for their age by making observations and focusing on nature and the seasons and they will be working on English and writing skills while they write journal entries. Students will also be working on public speaking skills by sharing their journal entries with the class. This class is a fun and interactive way to tie together science and nature with English and writing! **If there are certain days/times that work best please email and let me know. I am flexible and try to make accommodations to meet student and parent needs.
