Círculo de aprendizaje de Smartkids Pre-K

Thank you for viewing and considering my Pre- Kindergarten class. Please read carefully about the structure/format of this class and if you have questions please contact me.

This is a Pre-Kindergarten Class for ages 4 years to years-5 years old. We focus on Language & Literacy, Writing Concepts, Math, and Creative expression.

This class will meet on Tuesday & Thursday for 30 minutes. Also, this class is offered weekly with new activities.

During the Learning time, I will engage each child in a variety of activities that are developmentally appropriate for Pre-K. 

In each class, we will review Pre-K Concept skills that prepare learners for Kindergarten.

TEACHER MATERIALS: 
I use a variety of teaching aids to enrich the virtual learning experience such as PowerPoint slides, online games, whiteboard, flashcards, printables/activity sheets, books, song recordings, virtual field trips, and on occasion a video that may reinforce the learners understanding of a concept.

A typical class includes the  following: (  All may not happen in one day but are covered throughout the weekly scheduling of the class.)

OPENING:
- Welcome Song & Greetings
-  SmartKids Message: (Day of the week, Month/Year, Focus skill concept, Weather) and Share Reports for the learners

TUESDAY'S CLASS 
Language and Literacy Development/ Writing which will include some of the following skills/concepts

LANGUAGE & LITERACY 
*Oral language development ( expand expressive language skills)
* Letters and Letter sounds
* CVC words and Sight Words
* Appreciation of Books
*Print Awareness
*Phonological Awareness ( hearing and discriminating the sounds of language)

CONCEPTS OF WRITING

*Playdough activities
* Creative letter formations
* Experiments with a variety of writing tools and materials
* Tracing activities
* Free - hand activities (without tracing sheets to guide)

THURSDAY'S CLASS
Mathematics Development and Creative Expression will include 

MATH

*Patterns ( ABAB and AABB)
*Classification (sorting)
*Shapes (2 D & 3 D shapes)
*Understanding Space ( positional words)
*Non-standard and Standard measurement
*Seriation (objects by size attributes)


CREATIVE EXPRESSION

*Tactile experience and exploration
*Self-Expression through Art
* Music and Movement
*Musical Instruments
* Review and Recall of focused concepts and skills learned during the week


Each Week's  Lesson Focus will be posted in the Classroom along with any materials needed or Printable activities to download.

FYI: This class is offered every week; however the focus skills/ activities do change. Also, depending on the activity and time needed we may spend longer time on one activity or concept than the other because we prefer to meet the learner where they are as much as possible.
