Students will learn how to do trigonometry on the unit circle. They will learn the difference between angles in standard position and reference angles. They will understand and use the CAST rule. Learners will be able to calculate all the trigonometric ratios of all multiples of the "special angles" in both exact and approximate form for angles in both degrees and radians.

Detalles: Homework will be assigned problems based on class topic of the day. It will be assigned after every class so that learners can reinforce their skills between classes. Students will verify homework completion by video. Answers will be given at the beginning of every class for the student to check for correctness.

Detalles: Summative assessment by short test during the last 30 minutes of the final class in the 4-class series. Required for all students.

Strong familiarity with the basic trigonometric ratios (i.e. sin, cos, tan) and know how to solve problem types using a calculator. Being able to simplify radicals, including rationalizing the denominator, is strongly recommended.

We will be using the "interactive unit circle" and some other material from the "mathsisfun" website.
