Nivel Beginner - Intermediate

Diving into this class consists of exploring how to research effectively. Topics that this class will cover are research strategies, research topics, and how to write an academic research paper. The class is structured around completing a final research paper. Teaching will be centered around constructing the paper together, and working with each student on their chosen topics. Learners will get to interact through each of our powerpoint presentations, along with essay editing workshops.

Lección 1:

The Researching Basics

 This lesson is suited at diving into the basics of research. The session will instruct students in what sources are the most credible. Students will be offered the objectives of our research paper. In addition, they will have the choice to pick from a wide variety of research topics. The session will be focused on ensuring that we are following the best research strategies and indulging in our chosen topics.

Lección 2:

Taking Notes while Researching

 This lesson will be suited towards researching student's chosen topic. It will offer a hands on approach to any student confused on what particular source to use. Not only that, but the lesson will focus primarily on how to take effective notes while researching. This step is an essential skill into the writing process.

Lección 3:

How to Compose a Rough Draft (Workshop)

 In this session, students will be expected to have their rough drafts in class. This workshop will be very interactive and centered around bringing our rough draft to a good point to shift into its final mode. Through this session, each student will receive feedback on their composed drafts along with advice into bringing their essays into the final stage. We will ensure our papers are properly cited in this stage.

Bringing our Rough Draft to the Final Stages (Workshop)

 Lastly, students will bring their final drafts into our last class. This session will be focused around finalizing and revising our research papers. I will have each student share a chosen paragraph to present their research!

This class is designed to support all learning needs. Students will be encouraged to ask questions and will be able to truly prosper in this environment. I am here to work with each student one on one to ensure their confidence in writing!

Orientación para padres

Students will need to research and use the internet for this class while constructing our research drafts. Please ensure the content they are indulging in is appropriate to this course and their chosen topic.

Requisitos previos

Previous understanding of writing and basic grammar and mechanic knowledge is encouraged, yet not required. The course is beginner friendly and suited to any student's learning interests.
