Students will gain an understanding of the importance of using primary and secondary sources in history research. They will learn to format a history paper according to the Turabian style guide. Turabian is a more complicated method of formatting that is appropriate for history papers. 

I have a master's degree in history and a master's degree in professional writing. I have published history papers. I won first place for my history research at a research symposium in 2018.

Detalles: At the end of each week, students will be given a portion of their research to conduct or paper to write for the next week's class.  Homework could take anywhere between two and four hours, depending upon the individual student. Students will be expected to read enough of the sources to be familiar with the topic presented and the viewpoint of the authors.

Students will be taught to use Google Scholar to locate primary sources. They will need access to books, periodicals and/or websites for their research. We will refer to the Turabian style guide throughout the class.
