Experiencia de clase
In this flexible schedule drawing class learners will have access to weekly materials including teacher videos and demonstrations, reference and materials lists, work sheets, and reference images. Learners can work from provided images or their own reference. Learners can expect materials to be released weekly and should expect assignments based on the learning of the week to be completed in order to successfully progress through the course material. In WEEK ONE we will work on sketches, proportions, and composition. During WEEK TWO and THREE, we will add colour to our pieces and will touch on colour theory, value, and light source. We will render our drawings and explore blending and detailing. During WEEK FOUR learners will finalize details of their work, look at ways to finish, protect, and display their portraits and how best to digitize their drawings for a portfolio. Once per week, learners will find new "materials" posted to the Oustschool classroom. Materials will include (but are not limited to) video recorded lessons, demonstrations of art concepts and techniques, content guides, handouts, occasional quizzes and games, and discussion prompts. Learners will be responsible for responding to the weekly materials by posting artwork, responding to the teacher and peers about concepts, progress, and their own experience putting weekly learning into practice. Learners will engage through the classroom using written reply, video reply, and visually sharing uploads and files of their work. To summarize, weekly interactions will include: Video/instruction, presentation, and demonstration every week Video and text replies to one another in the classroom Sharing of art and art development in the classroom during all weeks Peer brainstorming and research, peer chatter and discussion. Projects shared in the classroom by learners during all weeks by uploading photos, drawings, videos, or links. In this classroom learners and the teacher are working together through the material. The teacher is a colearner and there to facilitate the learning. Learners can expect to be presented methods for creative problem solving and techniques and will be welcome to use alternate solutions when appropriate. Learners will engage together in the Outschool classroom to discover unique ideas and creative provocations. Learners should be comfortable sharing their work in the classroom, speaking candidly about their art practice, be able to check in to the classroom each week, and be comfortable asking questions.
