In this class, students will learn about 19th century conservationist John James Audubon, who used art and prints to highlight the beauty of nature, birds, animals, and plants. Students will learn a variety of art techniques to create their own art piece. Audubon, with his work, hoped to preserve the beauty and wonder of American plant and animal life by painting and printing them. He later made the art available for people to enjoy in museums and their homes. Students are encouraged to engage with the teacher and to share their progress with the class by raising their hand and asking questions. Recording of each class will be made available for students to review projects and techniques. Day 1: Wax Resist and Watercolor Day 2: Styrofoam Print Making Day 3: Clay Flamingo Transfer Day 4: Paint Flamingo and Model Magic Nests

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I am an illustrator, artist, teacher, business owner, and a pug mom. I have a degree in Illustration, a visual art minor with 20 years of teaching experience. I believe that knowledge is power and the more you know the greater your influence can be. Learning should be fun and individual. Even when my students are looking at the same picture for painting class, their work is very individual and unique to them and I love that part of the creative process. We are all learners and we should celebrate each other on the Journey!
