Ladies and Gentleman, Welcome to Sondra's Tournament of Champions! Today we will be watching exciting feats of valor, skill, and danger. Join me and experience the world of jousting and the tournaments so well known throughout the Middle Ages. Would you like to be a knight, a squire, a herald, or a spectator. It's going to be a fun and exciting day as we watch our noble knights tilt at the lists!

1. Introduction to jousting and tournaments. What is their role in Medieval Society? The Tournament is a social as well as a athletic event. Let's learn about the feasting, the costumes, and the festival that was the tournament. 

2. The cast of characters: knights, squires, kings, ladies, and the common folk not seated on a cushion. What were their different roles in the tournament? How did a squire become a knight? 

3. The rules, the equipment, and the horses. Fast and brave horses with their own armor to match the intricate armor of their knights. How were the lances made? And how does one train for these type of competitions? How do you score points in order to be declared the winner? 

4. Famous bouts and the kings who fought in them. Henry VIII and Henry II of France were complete jousting fans! They loved it, yet both suffered horrible injuries that actually affected history. Let's learn about these famous bouts and what went wrong. 

5. Other events in the tournament. What's a melee? Would you like to watch two teams of knights facing off in a winner take all contest- That sounds like fun! 

6. Jousting today. Did you know that jousting is making a comeback? Can you imagine jousting as an Olympic sport? Let's look at how jousting has become popular today and how the rules have changed... is it still dangerous?
