Flora la Flamenca: Clase de crochet amigurumi de nivel intermedio

If your student knows some basic crochet stitches and has completed an amigurumi before, this is a great next step!  Your student will learn all the skills necessary to make a stuffed flamingo.  Those skills, in turn, can be applied to other amigurumi animals.  Each week is broken down into the different steps that are needed to create the flamingo. 

**Students should know the single crochet stitch, half double crochet, and have some experiences with reading a crochet pattern**

Week One: This first week will be very informational, but it is essential that the students are given time to ask any questions that they may have about the required materials.  We will go over all of the supplies that are needed to crochet a flamingo and learn the magic circle and/or the chain-2 method.  We will make the beak, by learning how to change colors in amigurumi.  **A stitch marker and three colors of yarn will be needed.**

Week Two: We will work on the feet and legs of our flamingo.  **A stitch marker and scissors will be needed.*

Week Three: We will complete the body of the flamingo and add the eyes.  *Poly-fil/stuffing, safety eyes (optional), and a stitch marker will be needed.**

Week Four: The wings of the flamingo will be crocheted and then sewed together with a tapestry needle.  **A tapestry needle will be needed.**

Week Five:  We will sew the pieces of the flamingo together. **A tapestry needle will be needed.**

**If there are any weeks that the student may need/want more to crochet, we can always add accessories like flowers or bows!**
