In this ongoing class, learners will meet once a week to create a teacher-directed seasonal craft. Materials will typically be items you already have in your home, but the supply list will always be listed a few weeks in advance. Learners will be shown step by step how to complete each craft. Students will have opportunities to practice cutting skills, pre-writing skills (tracing / coloring), and following directions. If time allows, the class will include an book related to our craft....

OCEAN ANIMALS for July and August! Week of July 28:Shark • Toilet paper roll • Grey paper (or blue if you can't find grey) • White paper • Black marker • 2 googly eyes • Pencil • Scissors • Glue Week of August 4: NO CLASS Week of August 11: Under the Sea • Paper in a variety of colors (specifically need blue and brown but also want lots of other colors) • Scissors • Glue • Pencil • Googly eyes Week of August 18: Puffer Fish • Paper plate • Toothpicks • Yellow or orange paint • Yellow or orange construction paper • 2 Googly eyes • Paint brush • Liquid white glue or hot glue gun • Black Marker • Scissors Week of August 25: Snail • White paper plate • Colored paper • Paints (variety of colors) • Paintbrush • Googly eyes (2 small) • Black marker • Glue • Pencil • Scissors FALL CRAFTS BEGIN! Week of September 1: Owl • Washable paint • Kitchen sponge that can be cut (or a paintbrush) • Paper plate to put paint on • Construction paper (1 piece, any color) • White cardstock • 2 large googly eyes • Scissors • Glue • Pencil Week of September 8: Basket of Apples • Green paper • Red paper • Brown paper • Paper plate (cheap, uncoated plates work best) • Circle 3-4 inches to trace (a cup would work great!) • Scissors • Pencil • Glue • Brown Marker Week of September 15: Fall Tree • White paper • Brown paper • Red paper • Yellow paper • Orange paper • Glue • Scissors • Pencil Week of September 24: Leaf Art • Leaves (please gather about 10 leaves from outside, fresh leaves are better for this craft) • White cardstock paper • Paint in a variety of colors • Paintbrushes • Cup of water (to rinse brushes in) Future week's crafts are to be determined.
