This class is a 30-week course, 3 times a week. Teaching will include class discussions, lectures with slides, videos, learning games and activities, worksheets, and group projects. 

The class meets three times each week on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for 30 weeks. Each class will with an opener and discussion about the lesson, followed by a literature discussion, convention lesson and a writing skill will be taught with a worksheet or project relating to the concept assigned for homework. 

The class will using books for the class reading, stories for comprehension and literacy skills, or writing comprehension notebooks/ loose-leaf paper to enhance the learning environment experience.

Establishing reading and writing routines

Week No# 2
Reading Comprehension:
Analyzing fiction and non-fiction texts
Identifying main ideas and supporting details
Making inferences and drawing conclusions

Week No# 3
Writing:

Narrative writing: personal narratives, short stories
Expository writing: informative essays, explanatory paragraphs
Introduction to the writing process

Week No# 4
Grammar and Language:

Parts of speech and sentence structure
Punctuation and capitalization rules
Commonly misused words

Week No# 5:
Literary Elements:

Plot, setting, character, and theme analysis
Identifying literary devices in texts
Comparing different genres (poetry, drama, prose)

Week No# 6:
Vocabulary:

Context clues and word meaning
Expanding students' vocabulary through reading and word games

Week No# 7:
Public Speaking and Presentation Skills:

Preparing and delivering effective speeches
Non-verbal communication and body language

Read-aloud activities and partner reading
Emphasizing expression and tone in reading
