In this ongoing weekly class, we draw creatures and characters from the realms of Myths and Legends. 
We often end up drawing other things around the main topic as ideas emerge, and we also add colour to our drawings.

I have a camera set up so I'm able to show the progress of my own drawing.
This not a step-by-step method, but much more a joint creative experience. I do not expect the learner to draw like me, but take inspiration and a techniques to create their own art work.

Each week we draw a different subject, having fun elaborating on the theme. I actively encourage individual ideas and the sharing of everyone's drawings within the class. 
     
Conversation and questions are welcome throughout, and I hope learners will share their drawings in the classroom after each lesson. No required experience or knowledge is needed to join this class, only an interest in drawing and mythology.

I am a professional artist and art teacher living and working in Sheffield, UK
Born in Denmark I studied Graphic design and illustration before moving to the UK where I received a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art, Painting.  

With more than four years of teaching experience on Outschool I mainly concentrate on One-on-one classes. 
I specialize in mentoring neurodivergent children in classes where the emphasis is on long-term development of drawing skills, concentration, confidence, and communication in a safe and trusting environment.   

When meeting a new student, I like to find out what they are interested in and incorporate this in the learning experience, for example if the learner loves Pokemon or similar popular characters, the inspiration from these can provide an excellent variety of skills in creating shapes, textures, and other effects which can be transferred to many other drawing subjects the future. I also like to include discussion of the drawing skills and using discussion to feed the creativity of the learner (e.g. this may lead to bringing in background elements, action, or a backstory to the image).  


There is no right or wrong in art, but continued learning and practice of some basic techniques and materials will enhance your ability to make constructive choices in the process of making, and communicate with feeling and true personal style. The foundations will always set you up well for continuing your creative development and advancing your skills.  Art is not only a fun pastime, but also a great way for children to build confidence, creativity and increased concentration.  


I have extensive knowledge and experience of drawing techniques, illustration, printmaking and art materials. During lessons I will be drawing alongside the learner, using a second camera for easy explaining and demonstrating.
