Serie Dibujar y aprender: Creadores de cambios [FLEX]

Welcome to the Draw and Learn Series, change-makers edition! 

In this class, students will learn about 6 African American people who have helped to change the world and their field of expertise. 

Each week, students will be introduced to a new change maker and learn about them through weekly directed drawings, directed paintings, and read alouds. 

Our drawing will be in cartoon style using simple lines and shapes. This class is great for the beginning artists. 

The major focus of this class is art, with an added bonus of social studies. Students will learn basic techniques for using lines and shapes to create an image and basic use of watercolor paint. Students will be encouraged to mix media as they see fit to help them explore their creativity and bring their drawings to life. 

We will study and draw the following change makers:

Week 1 - Dr. Mae Jemison 

Week 2-  Jackie Robinson 

Week 3 - Ruby Bridges 

Week 4- Louis Armstrong 

Week 5- Simone Biles 

Week 6 - George Washington Carver 


FLEX COURSE:
This is a flex class, with no live meeting. This is great for students to take their time with their art and share it with us when they are complete.  New classroom videos will be released each Monday, and students should post their work by Thursday to allowing for feedback. 

INTERACTION:
Students are expected to share their art with the class weekly through photos or videos. Students are also encouraged to comment on two classmates' art to offer encouragement and feedback. 

Each Wednesday provides another opportunity for interaction through weekly design challenges, Kahoot! Battles, and discussion questions
