In this 3 day camp students will take a deep dive into important topics like the periodic table, the atom, and electrons. I like to interact with the students so I'll have questions and discussions throughout te class. I enjoy letting students contribute when they have things they want to share.

Day one- The atom. We'll discuss what an atom is, the history of discovery the different parts of an atom.

Day two - Discuss the periodic table. We'll learn some of the history, why, the structure is important and how it relates to the atomic structure.

Day three - We will discuss the electron.  It's the driving force behind the most interesting part of chemistry,  reactions!

I like to use short videos, questions, and some lecture in my classes. 

This class is great for those who want to take a deeper dive into chemistry or just enjoy learning.

Students will understand different chemistry concepts. They'll be able to discuss concepts such as the atom, electrons, and electron configuration for example.

Hello!  

UPDATE: I am taking a break from Outschool.  After the spring semester of 2024 ends, I will take a hiatus. 

I offer a variety of science and math classes.   I have close to ten years of teaching experience.  I've worked with students of all ages including young adults.  I experience teaching in the classroom and teaching virtually. I have a B.A. from Louisiana State University. 

I've helped tutoring student reach their goals whether it's to pass a standardized test or get a passing grade in a course. 

I think that a basic understanding of science enhances one's life.  It opens up a world hidden to most people.  Studying science and math helps children to develop critical thinking skills that can be applied to all areas of life.  My goal in all my classes is to inspire the students to study science.  I want them to always ask questions and to stay curious. 

Please reach out to me if you don't see a time that works for your child.  I will try to be accommodating if it is possible.  
 
When I am not teaching or prepping for classes, I enjoy crafting, reading, working out, and spending time with my dog.
