Tarea
4+ horas por semana. After each class, students will work on menu planning and grocery shopping lists. In addition, students will collaborate in the first two classes on what the final two side dishes will be in class 4. In all Wild About Cooking classes, learners have homework. The homework is to taste test what they have made!

Soup and salad? Chili and cornbread? Dessert? Yes and more! All will be included in this flex class where students will have the opportunity to make three recipes in each class to create dinner for their family for the first three weeks. The fourth week, students will share ideas for a side dish and dessert. While each meal can feed 4 people, students can easily double the recipe as needed to fit the needs of their family. Each recipe will allow the students to make the recipes from scratch and adjustments can be made to fit dietary needs. During each lesson, students will have the opportunities to work on different cooking techniques, introduced to a variety of ingredients and tools which will  allow students to practice new skills and refine old skills. Students can create the recipes along with the teacher created videos or watch the video and then make the recipe. In addition, students will work on the skills of menu planning and grocery shopping. This class will be a combination of video demonstration from teacher created videos, discussion and will have supplemental videos to aide in the learning.

Menu Class 1: Chicken or Vegetable Noodle Soup, Ranch Dressing (green salad), and homemade bread. 

Menu Class 2: Italian Soup, Caesar salad, and Chocolate Mousse

Menu Class 3: Sausage and Chicken Chili, Italian Dressing, and Golden Sweet Cornbread 

Menu Class 4: Creamy Tomato and Corn Soup (main dish). In class 1 and 2, students will collaborate on the two side dishes that will accompany the soup. 

*A note on how I teach a flexible schedule class:
-In a flexible schedule class, there are class video lessons, discussion questions and activities, posted on a schedule.  All material and interaction will be posted within the platform.
-Students can post videos, copies of their work and or photos and respond to each other.
-My goal is to respond within 24 hours to each student's post

-be able to describe the process of making Chicken Noodle Soup
-be able to identify the steps in creating Italian Noodle Soup
-be able to recall the steps to making Creamy Tomato Soup
-be able to demonstrate the creation of the Sausage and Chicken Chili
-be able to explain the importance of menu planning
-be able to practice grocery planning
-be able to design a meal that includes a main dish, 1-2 side dishes

Orientación para padres
By enrolling in the class, families accept full responsibility for their learner's safety which includes but not limited to kitchen materials and the ingredients. Parental guidance is requested in assisting the student in the kitchen as the students will be using the stove and oven and to ensure all meals are cooked to the correct temperature.
Lista de útiles escolares
Each week, a supply list for ingredients and tools will be posted in the classroom. Basic kitchen cooking tools will be needed as well as a stove and oven.
